New surface treatment
The use of Cr6 in surface treatments has in the last years been imposed with several restrictions, as in European directive 2000/53/EC, ROHS etc.
Cejn has gradually changed its assortment of products over to the Cr6 free surface platings and now in the final stage the time has come to replace the yellow zinc chromate plating.   The new process is zinc plating with a Cr3 passivation which will give the products a silver appearance instead of the yellow colour.  The corrosion resistance of this new plating is better or equivalent with the old yellow zinc plating, a typically value is 400H to red corrosion, acc. to salt spray test ISO 9227.

The new plating is gradually introduced to the marked from 1 of Jan 2010, mixed shipments with new and old surface treatment will occur until the 1 of July 2010 when  all shipments from manufacturing plants shall be converted to the new Cr6 free process.
